According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.3 square miles (18.8 km), of which, 7.2 square miles (18.5 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km) of it (1.51%) is water.
City Slogan
In 2005, Mayor Nick Churnovic had been elected mayor. During the campaign, he promised to give a Crest Hill a slogan. So, Crest Hill Schools wrote slogans and Mayor Churnovic narrowed it down to the top 5.
On December 19, 2005, the Crest Hill city council counted the votes and the determined winner was Taylor Smith, a 7th grader from Chaney-Monge School, with the phrase "The City of New Beginnings". See who else won on the city's website www.cityofcresthill.com The seal that accompanies the new phrase features the sun, two hills, and an oak tree.
