History

Over 1,000,000 individuals reside within a ten-mile radius drawn from Orland Park's borders. This does not include the vast number of people who come into the Chicago Southland region and, in particular, Orland Park to conduct business and enjoy the conveniences of its shopping and other commercial facilities. The destination of choice for commercial needs, Orland Park serves the Chicago Southland region admirably as a business center since with new and varied enterprises steadily coming into the Village. Professional offices, national retail entities and hundreds of smaller firms make Orland Park the major attraction to business in the Southland.

The Village is situated on east-west coast connector Interstate 80 and minutes from Interstates 294, I-57 and I-55. These give ready access to Chicago and Chicago's northwest and western suburbs, along with central Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan. LaGrange Road (Route 45) is the main thoroughfare through the heart of Orland Park and serves as the western border to the regional shopping mall, Orland Square.

Orland Park has become a financial hub for the Chicago Southland region as it now embraces more than 30 savings and loans, banks, mortgage lenders and other financial facilities within its borders. Orland Park financially supports targeted qualifying industrial businesses to locate or expand in the municipality. This is done through its Revolving Loan Fund Program, and by encouraging the use of Cook County Class 6b as well as other incentives and assistance.
